Kimberly has a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a masters degree in Special Education from American University. She has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in a variety of roles that include direct therapist, classroom teacher, consultant, program director, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Kimberly has experience working with children who have an autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, ADD, ADHD, and challenging behaviors. Her passion lies in strengthening family units, breaking down barriers that result in child and family isolation, and building communities. Kimberly’s efforts target caregiver and professional training, skill acquisition programming, and skills assessment (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, etc.). Her experiences across settings (home, school, and community) focus on reducing challenging behaviors with functional alternatives, increasing functional communication systems, supporting a happier and more independent child, and connecting families. Kimberly’s interests and skills continue to evolve based on the needs of her families and current research. She understands, personally and professionally, that behavior change starts with an understanding of the principles of ABA and is sustained with Daily Practice and a supportive community.
